This campground is the best I have ever been to. We stayed in the Cedar cabin for our anniversary weekend last week and we're blown away at how beautiful and clean the cabin was. It is reserved for handicap people only and you must have a placard to even be allowed to place a reservation for this spot which is very nice to know. The site was recently renovated after damage from the Cedar fire and is wired for electricity, although they haven't run the power to it yet. I can't wait until we have the cieling fan going in there. From the ramp up from the parking spot to the accessible fire pit and bbq grill to the flat paved ground, this was the perfect spot to camp for a wheelchair bound person. My wife and I already have 2 more trips out there planned before the end of the year. There are 2 sets of bunk beds, one with two twins and one with a twin and a queen bed. It is a little difficult to navigate the roads in a chair because they slant to one side or the other and I kept going off the side of the road if I wasn't centered perfectly which was frustrating and don't bother heading to the lake if you are wheelchair bound either unless you can get into a boat but the campsite itself is perfect. You have one other cabin on the one side of you that is not in commission right now but is also accessible and then a tent site on the other side of the cabin but you have plenty of privacy from them. I do have a problem with the rude children who thought it was funny to throw water at my service dog while we were waiting for the restroom but the park ranger reprimanded them immediately so I am happy with the park. The restrooms and showers are very close to the cabin (maybe a little more than 100 ft) and the ground pump for potable water is on the paved path leading from the cabin to the restrooms.
Great camp site! Lots of trails and bathrooms on site. Note extra vehicles are $10 a night.
A little more crowded than some other campsites I have visited but we had a lovely spot and lots of new and wonderful places to hike at all activity levels.
I grew up camping here. I love returning and taking my children on hikes in the Cuyamaca area.
Campsites are very uneven and difficult to get a trailer in. Bathrooms are very clean in the morning after they clean and by the middle of the day they are a horror scene with no toilet paper. The staff is very nice though.
