I am deeply in dept to those that make that experience so memorable. The employees work tiresly to enhance it and make every visit memorable.
We love camping at KQ Ranch. It is spacious, clean, and well maintained. We especially like the spaces up on the bluff--spectacular view. The store comes in handy for those "I forgot to pack" items. It is well stocked. The staff are very polite and friendly. It is close to the quaint little town of Julian...lots of fun shopping and good restaurants. You can get the best tasting pie in the state there.
As a member going on seven years, let me share my experience, as a husband, father, and grandfather.
When making the reservation I was very specific about when I could attend the 1.5 hour sales pitch. I had my daughter and niece for the weekend and then would be by myself Monday and Tuesday. "No problem" I was told on the phone when booking...when I arrived on Saturday afternoon I was told I'd be sitting through the sales pitch Sunday at 9am. I mentioned I could not do that and was told we could not stay otherwise...they literally would not allow us to enter and said "Oh the people taking the reservations are from Arizona, they don't know what's going on". The rudest encounter I've ever had with a business, they could care less what the phone on the phone told me (which I assumed was the same company but apparently not.
The drive to, with the many wildlife encounters of coyotes, turkey, deer, hawks, and bald eagles, excites the senses. The serenity of the property, with the abundance of bird wild life, and deer grazing, and the turkey gobbling, makes one deeply appreciative of a world we rarely see, or are a part of.
This is definitely a 5 star resort. Vicki and her husband are excellent hosts. Hats off to Dwayne. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home! Luv this place...
At first, it was difficult to adjust to the atmosphere. I found the transition from the rushing of the city, to the tranquility of the peaceful surrounding a challenging adjustment.
A fun place for the whole Family! The kids loved the playground, lake and activities. The family had a great time playing mini-golf and horseshoes. Don't miss the steak/chicken dinner on Saturday nights. It's delicious and you can't beat the price! There was a live band after dinner that played classics 50's to the 80's. Dancing and fun had by all!
