The pork ribs were very tender and the sweetness of the pork works well with the spice of the BBQ sauce.

4.5/5

Contrary to what the sign claims, this is not the place to get the best apple pie in Julian. Of the three or four places I've gotten apple pie in J-town, this is at or toward the bottom, which still ranks it better than most apple pie you get anywhere else ;-)

This restaurant is in Julian, ca. The food is excellent. The service was top notch. I would recommend this restaurant.

Great service. Good traditional American restaurant grub. (Pot pie, chicken fried steak, etc.) They had a table for four when many other restaurants had a three hour wait. Been coming to Julian for a few years now and noticed that this place didn't get great reviews so I avoided it. I guess people are just snobs? I'm a big foodie, and while this place is neither haute nor hip I was very happy to fill my gullet here. :D

Now if you high expectations and think this is a high end or mid range place. It is not. Its more on the lines of a diner serving your typical American diner food. The restaurant itself is nice. It has a gift shop at the entrance where you can also buy fudge. There is a few parking spots at the front, so on a busy day parking can be hard to find especially on the weekends. Of course the town of Julian is a tourist spots in San Diego County during the weekend and holidays. So be prepared to drive around a bit.

I never had a bad experience here. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. This your typical American restaurant with good old American food. Our last visit was on our way home from Palm Springs and we were tired and hungry so we decided to stop off. The place was not busy. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and checked on us throughout our meal.

The food is decent yet flavorful. I typically order the New Orleans Red Beans and Rice along with the sampler platter. The red beans and rice is not bad but has some heat to it.

The chili was a little bit spicier than I was expecting but I enjoyed the challenge. It was unmistakenly homemade and simmered a long time. Excellent food.

Food was decent. No booze is served, of any kind. Waitress didn't tell us her name. She kept forgetting things. In the end, I gave the bus boy her tip, he was polite and got us what we needed.

Overall my experience has always been pretty good. I have never had issues at the Rongbranch
